Wall and floor tiling in Perth

Bains Renovations takes on wall and floor tiling as a standalone job across the Perth metropolitan area, to the same standard as the tiling inside our own renovations. That covers bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, living areas and outdoor areas. It suits homeowners who have the rest of the job covered and want the tiling done by people who do it every week.

The standard

Preparation is the job

Substrate, levelling, waterproofing and setting out. A floor that has not been prepared shows it in every grout line, and a wall that has not been set out shows it at the first corner.

That is the whole argument for paying a renovator to tile rather than taking the cheapest quote in the inbox.

Tile types we work with

Whatever you have picked, we will lay it. Porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, mosaic and large format.

Tiling is the trade this business started in, so it is the part we are fussiest about, from the substrate prep up.

Questions

Tiling questions

Real questions we get asked. Answers come from Harry rather than being written for him.

Either. Most people choose their own and we lay them. If you would rather not work it out yourself, tell us the room and the look you are after and we will point you at suppliers we deal with and at tiles that will not give you grief once they are down.
Sometimes, but we will look before we say yes. The existing tiles have to be sound, well stuck down and flat, and the extra height has to work with the doors, the floor wastes and the fittings. In a wet area it usually pays to take them off, because tiling over hides whatever the old waterproofing is doing.
Somewhere between 24 and 48 hours, depending on the tile, the adhesive and the grout. We will give you the exact number when you have picked your materials, and it is worth waiting it out rather than risking the job.
Yes. Waterproofing and tiling are the same job as far as we are concerned, because one is only as good as the other. Internal wet areas are waterproofed to the Australian Standard, and it is done and allowed to cure properly before a tile goes near it.
